The Loudwater Chronicles
Town of Loudwater Guard
Tanis grew up in an Eladrin village in the forgotton realm. The village often was raided by the Drow elves that lived in nearby caves. Because of this, every male was required to serve in the town militia until their 100th year when they could leave the militia if they so chose and raise a familly of their own. Early on in his training, Tanis’s masters could see that he had a keen intelect and a knack for tactics. He was seen as a prodigy. He planned enough successful battles vs. the Drow invaders that he caught the attention of the Speaker of the village.
It was on one of his visits that he met the Speaker’s youngest daughter, Laurana, and fell instantly enchanted with her breathtaking beauty. It was not too long until their engagement was announced, and the town rejoiced. Tanis had only one last battle left vs. the Drow before his service would be up and he could marry his true love. Alas, Fate was a fickle mistress and during this final battle one of the Drow soldiers landed a lucky strike and scarred him permanetly across his right eye and down his cheek.
When he returned home victorious and the Speaker saw the scar, he called off the wedding, for they had a superstition in the village that one born to a Drow-scarred father would end up betraying his own. As was the code, they kicked him out of the village with his weapons and his pack. Inside his pack was some money for supplies and a note from Laurana which read, “Come back to me my love, for I will await your return.” He knew that he would have to form a small army and march on the very village he had sworn to defend so that he could see his love once more.
Tanis set out for Loudwater because he heard there would be quests and odd jobs that he could complete to earn the money he needs to reclaim his lost love.
